My buddy Mat at From the Morning has posted several posts about his tattoo. Often, they are followed up with his personal commentary about how many hits he gets when he blogs about it.
Personally, I think his tattoo is pretty cool and when I read a devotion that reminded me of the tattoo the other day, I blogged about it. I did so because it was relevant - not becuase I sought traffic.
But lo and behold, just a couple days later, I noticed a major shift in visitation to No Other Rock. Today, my visits doubled over the previous day (which was a little high). Even more striking (to me at least) is the fact that there were more than a couple visits that resulted from a search phrase containing the word tattoo. Some examples are: “Cross Tattoo”, “rise up and overcome tattoo”, and “living sacrifice tattoos” — the latter is ironic becuase the post I wrote specifically was in relation to the ability that his tattoo has given Mat to share the Gospel.
I’m not really going anywhere with this other than the fact that tattoos are cool. I guess I could also go on to posit that anything can become an instrument of God for accomplishing His divine purpose, but that’s a given. There are countless examples . . . so I am sticking with tattoos are cool.
I think I will get one . . . just kidding Jenny

Nope… Wasn’t kidding. Lots of hits from that thing.
