When I was younger, a movie I watched a lot was Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Maybe it was because it was about a kid laying hooky from school. Maybe it was because it had a cool car in it. Maybe it was because it had that goofy guy from Howard The Duck (I know, I may be the only person ever to admit that I like that movie). Maybe it was the monotoned teacher (Ben Stein). Maybe it was the fact that they went to a Cubs game.
Whatever the case, as I have grown older and out (but not up), the movie is still one of my favorites. But what surprises me the most of all is the way in which Ferris Bueller has kind of become the personification of my generation (and those before it). When you think about it, John Hughes movies pretty much encapsulate that era.
Anywho, that’s my half baked point of this post. Here’s a nice little vignette:
