I read a lot. Yet, I rarely re-read a book once I have finished it. That means I ultimately have dozens of books sitting around that serve no realistic purpose other than to make me puff my chest when I think ‘I read all those’ to myself.
I used to sell books on half.com – but once I got to the point where a trip to the post office to receive what typically amounts to a three dollar bounty really didn’t fit with my personal agenda, so I stopped doing that. Sometimes I donate my books to the public library for their sales, or to Goodwill, but something about that doesn’t drive me too far either.
But today, I stumbled onto BookCrossing. This is a really cool idea. Basically, it’s a massive book sharing ring where you can track the movement of your contributions. You can register a book, print a label and put a code on it. Then you can plant it somewhere – like a restaurant, a doctor’s office, a park or anywhere really. Then others can find it, read it and “release” it back into the wild for others to enjoy. If you are familiar with WheresGeorge, this will sound very familiar.
Unfortunately, there are not many contributors in my neck of the woods, so I can “catch” too many titles around here. Maybe that will change.

Welcome to BookCrossing! I’ve been a member since 2003. If you’d like to trade with other BookCrossers or make sure your books get to members who want to read your books, I recommend these auxiliary sites (all of which are free to join): BookObsessed.com, RABCK.com and bcwish.cliff1976.net
Happy reading.
Thanks pussreboots. I’ll have to give those sites a look.
Similar to bookcrossing and wheresgeorge, check out a new startup called One World Connects if you can. We are trying to connect the world. http://1worldconnects.com
Thanks,
